Thomas Dunsmore was born at Ludlow, Vermont, April 14, 1828. He was married in 1850 at Lunenburg, Mass., to Nancy L. Weatherbee. To this union were born eight children, Charles H., Frederic M., Ellis E., James P., Miron W., Orin W. Mary E., and Judge T. The wife and four of the children survive him; Charles H. Dunsmore, of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Frederic M. Dunsmore, James P. Dunsmore, and Mrs. Mary E. Hines, of this place. He was one of the oldest settlers about this community, coming to this vicinity in the spring of 1854, settling on a farm where his son Frederic now lives. He died January 23rd, 1913, and the funeral was held at the house of his daughter, Mrs. Lester Hines, on Sunday morning, January 25th at 10:30 o'clock. Interment took place at the County Corners cemetery.
