Mrs. J. A. Kramer passed away at her home in this city on Monday night, Jan. 6th, 1913, aged 42 years, 1 month and 9 days.
Mary Electa Whitley was born at Fayette, Iowa, on November 27th, 1870, and was united in marriage to J. A. Kramer on June 11th, 1892. On March 1st, 1896, they moved to Elkader, and have resided here ever since.
She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Harriet; two sons, Dayton Earle and Carl; an aged mother, Mrs. Matilda Whitley, of Fayette; four brothers and two sisters, Charles, James, Richard and Adella, of Fayette; Luella, of Hawkeye, and Frederick, of Elkader, besides other relatives and friends, who are left to mourn her passing away.
Funeral services, which were largely attended, were held this afternoon at the home at 1:30 and at the German church at 1:45, Rev. C. H. Franke officiating. Interment in the East Side cemetery.
