Mrs. Ann Dickens, the earliest resident of Iowa, died at North McGregor, of injuries received in a fall a week ago. She passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Larry Jennings.
Mrs. Dickens was Anne Redman* and her people came to Iowa June 10, 1833. It is believed they were the very first residents of the territory which later became Iowa.
She was married to Edwin Dickens when she was 15, May 27, 1837. She was born on August 19 and but recently celebrated her eighty-seventh birthday.
