On Saturday morning occurred the death of Mrs. Thos. Allen. She had been helplessly afflicted with paralysis for the past 11 months but bore her sufferings with Christian fortitude until at last surrounded by a sorrowing family and friends who came to take their last sad leave death touched the drooping eyelids and she passed quietly into her last long sleep.

The deceased was 61 years, 3 months old at the time of her death. She leaves a husband and four grown children to mourn the loss of a kind and loving wife and mother.

Monday her remains were conveyed to the M.E. church from whence after a touching address by Rev. Lease her body was placed away to rest in the cemetery at Pleasant Ridge.
