Laura Hildendorf died at her home near Wood on Sunday. The funeral was held at the German M.E. church on Tuesday. Laura has been sick the past two years with consumption. She went to Colorado hoping she might regain her health, but not improving any, she returned home, where all her friends made her last days as pleasant as possible. She was an earnest Christian and will be missed by all of her friends. She leaves a father, mother, several sisters and brothers who will mourn for her.

(Note: An apparent reference to Laura M. Hilgendorf, 08 Sept. 1888 - 03 Nov. 1907, buried in the Ebenezer cemetery, and shown in WPA records.)
