Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 3 Oct. 1907.
On Monday morning at the home of her parents at Farmersburg occurred the death of little Esther, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kruse, at the age of 2 years, 4 months and 13 days, caused by scarlet fever.
Words fail to express the heart-broken feeling it leaves when your darling is taken from you just at the age when they become a comfort to their parents. But God knows best and with Him she dwells. She died as she lived, with a smile on her face, and it is with a consoling thought in our heart that we will some day meet her in the better land. It is then we will know it was all for the best. As the Lord spoke: "Suffer little children to come unto me, for of such is the Kingdom of heaven."
She was laid to rest in the Clayton Center cemetery, Rev. Gaddow performing the last sad rites.
