John Barton, mention of whose illness was made in the Press last week, passed away at Spokane, Wash., last Friday. His death was due to typhoid fever. Deceased was a son of Frank Barton of this city and was born at Garnavillo March 1, 1872. He left there last spring for Washington in search of employment, and had been working in the vicinity of Spokane up to the time of his being taken ill. The body was interred there Monday. Surviving him are his father, who resides here, and three brothers, Frank, of North McGregor, Henry, of White Lake, S.D., and Charles, of Indiana.
