Elkader Register, Thur., 12 Sept. 1907.
At about 5 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 8th, 1907, at the home of her sister, Mrs. John F. Ste_n, in this township, occurred the death of Mrs. Henry Lindeman after an illness of some five months. She had recently been moved from her own home in order that the sister might care for her.
Anna Kottman was born in Cox Creek twp. Dec. 12th, 1884, and on Oct. 27th, 1___, was united in marriage with Henry Lindemann. They occupied the old M. Stence place southeast of town.
She is survived by her husband, her father, Henry Kottman, one sister, Mrs. John F. Ste_n, and two brothers, Henry, of Giard twp., and Louis, of Volga.
The death of his wife is a hard, sad blow to the husband, who, inside of two years had started a home with the hopes of future comforts. The sympathy of the community goes out to him and the others of the bereaved family.
The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, the services being held at the German church, Rev. F. Leonhard officiating. They were largely attended by sorrowing friends.
(Note: The surname Lindeman/Lindemann was spelled both ways in the article, as presented. Also her father signed death certificate clearly spelling his surname as Kothman)
