The death of Mrs. John Hirsch occurred Wednesday evening at the family home in the Swede Settlement. Mary Liebrand was born May 4, 18__ (looks like 1852), in Widenburg, Germany, and came to this country when only sixteen months old. She was united in marriage to John Hirsch at Sherill, Dubuque county, September 18th, 18__ (looks like 1869), and then came to McGregor, which has since been their home. Seven children were born to this union, three sons and four daughters: Mrs. S. H. Wetter and Mrs. G. S. Wetter, of Mason City; Mrs. Albert Allen, Elkader; Mrs. Edward Waltz, Dubuque; William, Edward and Martin, at home. The funeral was held at the Swedish church, Rev. V. E. Hall, of this city, officiating. - McGregor News.
