Elkader Register, Thur., 18 Apr. 1907. Elgin column.

Halver Giselson (sic), an old and respected citizen of near Gunder died Tuesday evening of this week. He had made his home with his son, Halver, and family, and Monday evening about six o'clock when the son returned from the field he found his father sitting in a chair unconscious. The old gentleman was tenderly placed upon the bed, lingering until Tuesday night when death claimed him. He was never able to speak from the time he was stricken with heart trouble until he passed away. Mr. Giselson was over eighty years old and has many friends who will deeply mourn his passing. Funeral services will be held from the Marion Lutheran church Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock.

Note: correct spelling of surname is Gisleson, as is on his gravestone in the Marion Lutheran cemetery, Gunder. DOB from gravestone = 02/08/1826
