Elkader Register, Thur., 28 Mar. 1907.
Magdelena Nehsor, daughter of Louis and Mary Nehsor, was born at Communia, Iowa, July 16th, 1854, and died at her home in Elkader, March 24th, 1907, aged 52 years, 7 months and 8 days. Her childhood was spent with her parents and until her marriage with Fred Scheer, on April 1_th (looks like 14th), 1877. Mr. and Mrs. Scheer made their home at Littleport for five years, after which they moved onto a farm one mile south of Littleport, where they resided until November, 1902, when they moved to Elkader, which place has since been their home. Three children were born to this union, one son, George, and two daughters, Mary, now Mrs. Geo. Bente, and Lena, now Mrs. Frank Bente. The son preceded the mother in death in May, 189_. The husband and two daughters survive to mourn the loss of a kind and affectionate wife and mother. She is also survived by one brother, Fred Nehsor, of Gresham, Neb., and three little grandchildren.
The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the Congregational church, Rev. A. S. Hock, the pastor, conducting the religious service. Fern Leaf Camp R.N.A. No. 180_, of which the deceased was a member, conducted the service at the cemetery. Mrs. Scheer was also a member of Protection Lodge No. 165 M.B.A., which, with a large number of the Littleport M.B.A. lodge, of which she had been a member, were present at the last sad rites, to mourn with our afflicted friends.
