Elkader Register, Thur., 21 Mar. 1907. Littleport column.

Grandma Dittmer, as she is familiarly known hereabouts, died at the home of Aug. Bendschneider, Saturday forenoon, after a brief illness incident to old age. She was one of the pioneer settlers, having come here when the country was mostly a wilderness. The funeral occurred Monday from the house, Rev. Lindenberger officiating. Interment taking place at the Ruegnitz cemetery, where a large concourse of sympathizing friends followed all that was mortal of the old lady and Pioneer. We are without further details at this writing.

Death certificate informant was August Bendschneider. She was the mother of Mrs. Benschneider (Augusta nee Sucow).
