Mrs. Mary Coates died at her home in Whitewater, Wis. March _nd, 1907, and her remains were brought to Farmersburg, Wednesday last to be laid beside those of her husband. She was born in Seneca county, N.Y. June 3rd, 18_1 (looks like 1831), and was a resident of this city until about three years ago, when she went to Whitewater, Wis., to stay with her son William and family. She leaves five sons and one daughter besides a host of relatives and friends to mourn her loss.

Note: w/o William; maiden name is from the obit of her son John Cornal Coates, who is also buried in the Farmersburg-Wagner cemetery.
