At an early hour, Wednesday morning, Mrs. Rudolph Wolter, Sr., passed away at her home in this city at the age of fifty nine years and twenty days. The cause of death was due to valvular disease of the heart. Catherine Biederman was born Jan. 23, 1848, in M__ren, Leichtenstein, Germany. When a child of four years deceased came to America with her parents, arriving in Guttenberg in 1852. She was married July 27, 1870, to Rudolph Wolter and they have since resided continuously in Guttenberg, Mr. Wolter being owner of the Wolter Brewery and Pop and Seltzer Works. Deceased was one of the city's best known and highly esteemed residents and her demise is the cause of extreme sorrow among her wide circle of acquaintances. She had long been a sufferer, but bore all very patiently. The surviving members of the family are the bereft husband and four sons and three daughters, all of whom reside in Guttenberg The children are namely: R. E., Mrs. Michael Gilbertz, Joseph, Mrs. Chas. Schmid, John, Charlie and Alma. Besides the above she leaves two brothers and one sister, who are Jacob and Joseph Biederman, who reside on farms on Buck Creek, and Mrs. Mary Stoeffler, a resident of town. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic church at 9:00 o'clock a.m. tomorrow (Saturday). Interment will be made in the new Catholic cemetery.
