Obituary
The death of Mary Grady of this city occurred at Dubuque Friday, May 24th, 1912. The deceased was taken ill some weeks ago. She seemed to rally at times and It seemed that she would recover until the last few days when she grew gradually worse, and the death summons came Friday morning to return to her maker.
She was born in Clare Island, Ireland, May 15th, 1868,and with her parents she came to this country when a real small child, coming directly to this city, which for the greater part of her life has been her home.
She received her education at Council Bluffs Iowa. The funeral was held Sunday, May 24th, at St. Mary’s church, McGregor, Father Dowling solemnized the Mass and spoke of the deceased in the highest terms. She leaves to mourn her death loving father and mother, a sister, Kate, and a brother, Mike, all of this city.

(Mary was born in Ireland. She was either deaf or blind, not sure which, and she attended the Iowa School for the Deaf and Blind in Council Bluffs.)
