The funeral of Mrs. M. Leonard, of Cox Creek township, occurred at St. Joseph's church Wednesday morning. Mrs. Leonard passed away Sunday night in her 80th year. Mr. Leonard's death occurred about seven years ago. She is survived by five children: William and Richard Leonard, of Cox Creek township; Mrs. O'Brien, of Sperry township; Mrs. Cal Whittle, Willow Lake, S.D.; and Mrs. James Dinan, of Elkader.

Census records show her husband was Michael Leonard & her first name Catharine. Her Death Certificate (familysearch.org) does not give her parents names, or her DOB, only that she was born Ireland and was 85 years old. DOD was 12/30/1906 and burial in St. Joseph Catholic cemetery, Elkader. Informant: Richard Leonard, Mederville
