BURNS, CANNON

On last Wednesday occurred the death of Mrs. Burns, of Austin, at the home of her brother, Jeremiah Cannon, in our city.

The deceased came here to wait on Mrs. Cannon, who was dangerously ill, and while engaged in her christian work suffered a relapse of the grippe from which she never rallied.

The funeral took place on Friday and her remains were followed to their last resting place in the Catholic cemetery on the hill by a great many of her friends.

Note: Burial most likely is in St. Mary's Catholic cemetery, McGregor. The 1885 Minnesota territorial census of Austin, Mower county, MN enumerated John & Mary Burns. Born in Ireland, her age, 51, indicates she was born ca1834.
