Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 20 Jan. 1916. From the Edgewood Journal, undated.

Orrin Kellogg was born on the home farm in Lodomillo township, March 19th, 1869, and passed away from the earthly life at the place of his birth on January 7th, 1916, his age being 46 years, 9 months and 18 days.

His father died thirty-seven years ago. There are now left of the family to appreciate his kindness and to cherish his memory, an aged mother, two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Troop, of Forestville, and Miss Ella, and one brother, Charles, the two latter still remaining at the old homes. After the death of his father, as soon as they were old enough to do so, he and his youngest brother took charge of the farm and with their united effort, and with the help of the sisters and mother, they together succeeded in greatly improving the place by many additions which rendered it a beautiful, convenient and comfortable dwelling place for the family.

Orrin was an industrious, unassuming, and unpretentious man, quiet in his business habits, a loyal and peaceable citizen, a trusty and generous neighbor: specially kind and attentive to his aged mother, his life being an illustration of the truth that "no one liveth to himself."

The funeral services were held at the home, Sunday, at eleven o'clock a.m., Rev. C. H. True officiating. Numerous neighbors and friends were present in evidence of their respect for the departed and to extend their help and sympathy to the members of the afflicted family. Interment was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery beside the resting place of the father. - Edgewood Journal.
