Henry Eugene Palmer was born in Chautauqua county, N.Y., June 4th, 1844, and died at the home of his son, Dr. C. W. Palmer, of Cassville, Wis., May 11th, 1916.
When eight years of age he, with his parents, moved to Clayton County, Iowa, where he has resided ever since.
July 4th, 1867, he was married to Lavina White. To this union eleven children were born. He is survived by his wife, eight children, Henry, Wilmer, and Gladys, of Garber; Stephen D. and James F., of Aberdeen; Wm. and Wesley E., of Turkey River; Carson W., of Cassville, Wis., and Mrs. Aurilla Parker, of Osterdock; eleven grandchildren and six brothers.
Funeral services were held at Bethel, Rev. Baldwin officiating. Interment was made in Bethel cemetery.
