Ray Marlett was born on June 24th, 1888, and died March 27th, 1916, at the age of 28 years, 9 months and 3 days, after two years of suffering. He was united in marriage to Millie Hibbard in Rock Island, Ill., on January 18th, 1911, and to this union two children were born, both of whom preceded the father in death.
He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, mother, father, one sister, Mrs. Suzie Brown, of Elma, Wis., and five brothers: Will, of Clayton; Lareinzo, of National; George, of Grantsburg, Wis.; and John, of Clayton. One brother, Frank Marlett, died in the year of 1908.
Ray Marlett came to National from Rock Island in the year 1912 and resided here ever since. He was well known and was respected by all who knew him. He was a dutiful husband and kind son, and all deeply mourn his loss.
