Engebret Olson Dead
Word was received in Elgin Wednesday morning that on the evening previous, Aug. 14, occurred the death of Engebret Olson at his home north of Clermont. He had been ailing but a few days and the immediate cause of his death was bowel disorder.Mr. Olson was a man well known in Elgin and was one of the stock holders of he Citizens' State Bank of Elgin, having been one of the original incorporators.
He was about sixty years of age and within a few days of his death had always been a very healthy man. His death is much lamented by his many friends and associates.

Note: Burial is in the East Clermont Lutheran Cemetery. The name on his gravestone is Emerick Olson Aanes, the later being his Norwegian name. He went by Emerick Olson & served in the Civil War, 9th IA Cavalry.
