Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 12 Oct. 1916. McGregor column.
Mrs. Jacob Kramer passed away at her home, Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the age of 86 years. Mrs. Kramer had been in failing health for the past year, and for the past few weeks her friends and children saw that her life would soon be ended. Her son Fred and her only daughter, Mrs. Walter Worley, of Charlston, N.D., were summoned to her bed side. Mrs. Kramer had been a long resident of McGregor. Mr. Kramer preceded her in death several years ago. Two daughters have also passed away. She leaves six sons, Jake, Chas., William, Louis, John, who live in this city, and Fred and Mrs. Worley, of Charlston, N.D. The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the home, Rev. A. E. Cutler officiating. The remains were laid to rest in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
(Note: WPA records indicate this is Catherine Kramer, 1830 - 6 Oct. 1916, buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in the same lot as her husband Jacob Kramer.)
