Delpha Bertha Mabel Radloff was born in Luana on July 8, 1916, the daughter of Herbert and Henrietta Deal. She was baptized one month later in St. John Lutheran Church, Luana.
She attended school in Farmersburg. In 1930 she was confirmed in the Christian faith in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona. She was united in holy wedlock with Elmer John Radloff at St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg, on September 25, 1940.
Following their marriage, the family lived for several years in Monona. Later they moved to Postville where they farmed for a number of years. In 1942 the family moved to a farm west of Monona, where they lived until February of this year. For the last few months the family home has been in Monona.
Mrs. Radloff was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church, Luana. She was a member of the Women of the Church and held various offices in the ALCW. She kept herself busy in church and community activities as she was able.
Mrs. Radloff had suffered a weakened heart condition for many years. Death came to her suddenly on Saturday morning, August 19, at 6:00 a.m. She reached the age of 51 years, one month, 10 days.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carol; her father, Herbert; and one brother, Delbert.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer; two sons, Loren, now serving at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, and Charles, of Cedar Rapids; her mother, Mrs. Henrietta Deal, one brother, Arno, and one sister, Mrs. Dana Huckstadt, all of Farmersburg and many relatives, friends and acquaintances.
Last rites were held in St. John Lutheran Church, Luana, Tuesday, August 22, at 10:00 a.m., the Rev. M. L. Sherer officiating. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery, Luana.
