Mrs. Maria Sophia Kirschner was born in Suhausen, Altmark, Germany, July 1st, 1832, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Suelter, on Thursday, Jan. 26, 1911, after an illness of three weeks duration. In 1854, on Oct. 7, she was united in marriage to Aug. Kirschner. Four children were born to this union, all of whom, with the husband, are left to mourn her death. The family came to America in 1884 and have since lived in Clayton Co. Those left to mourn the death of a loved one are her aged husband; Mrs. Louis Neubauer, of Monona; Mrs. F. Locknetz, of Germany; Mrs. Henry Suelter, of St. Olaf; and Mrs. Milewsky, of this township. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Braun, were held on Saturday, Jan. 28, and interment in the new cemetery.
