McGregor - Funeral services for Charles Welch, 77, prominent McGregor farmer, were held in the Giard church west of here Friday afternoon, the Rev. W.R. Ehlert officiating. Burial was in the Giard cemetery.
Mr. Welch was found dead in the Giard cememtery Tuesday afternoon, near the family lot where three sons and a daughter are buried. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He had been in poor health since March.
Mr. Welch was born July 1, 1864, on a farm near McGregor. He had always lived in this vicinity.
Surviving are his wife two sons Lloyd at home, and Milton of Seattle, Wash., and five daughters, Mrs. Nick Miller and Mrs. Fred Kadlec of McGregor, Mrs. Walter Manahl of Waterloo, Mrs. John Velau of Klemme, Ia.; and Mrs. Marvin Marr of Leavenworth, Wash.
