James McGhee, a well known and respected citizen of this county, died Monday morning, April 24th, 1911, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Chas. Meisner, aged about 75 years, after a long illness. Deceased was born in Ireland, came to the United States when a boy, lived for a time in the east, wore the blue in the Civil War, and for many years has been a resident of this township. One son, John, and two daughters, Mrs. Geo. Rothmeyer and Mrs. Chas. Meisner, survive him.
Funeral services were held Wednesday forenoon at St. Joseph's church, Rev. Father Hethrington, of Volga City, officiating, and the remains laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery.
