Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 18 May 1911.
Messages received Monday announced the sudden death of Mrs. Louis Litchfield at her home in Forest City, Ia., on Monday morning at two o'clock. The cause was heart disease.
Anna Reinke was born in Read township, Jan. 9, 1875, and grew to womanhood there. On March 31st, 1908, she was married to Louis Litchfield, in Elkader, who is left to mourn the loss of a faithful wife and loving companion. She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. Berghahn, her step-father, two brothers, Louis Reinke, of this place, and Geo. Reinke, of California, and five half-brothers.
She was confirmed in the Lutheran church when seventeen years of age and always has been a devout follower of that faith. She was a kind, earnest woman, always doing her utmost for those about her, and the sympathy of all who knew her goes out to the sorrowing husband and friends.
Her remains were brought here Tuesday and the funeral services were held Wednesday morning at ten o'clock, in the German church, Rev. Franke officiating, and she was laid to rest in the East Side cemetery.
