Katie Oelke died shortly after noon, Saturday. Her death was not unexpected and came as a relief to her sufferings, after having been confined to her bed, and gradually growing weaker for several months. Katherine Elizabeth Marie Oelke, youngest child and only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Oelke, Sr., was born December 2d, 1882, in Garnavillo, Iowa, and died April 29th, 1911, in Farmersburg, Iowa, being 28 years, 4 months and 25 days of age at the time of her death. She leaves to mourn her passing, her parents, and four brothers; Christ, Henry, Edward, and Arno, all of this place. The funeral services were held Wednesday, May 3rd, at the German Lutheran church, Rev. E. Pett officiating. From thence the remains were taken to Garnavillo, where Rev. Braun conducted the services, interment in Garnavillo cemetery.
