Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 26 Oct. 1911.
Frank Schuldt was born Jan. 18th, 1835, at Gueltz, Mecklenburg, Schwerin. As a young man he learned masonry, at which trade he worked for about sixteen years. Sept. 27th, 1865, he was married to Maria Dueling. Five years later he came with his family to this country and at first settled at Littleport, Iowa. After three years the family moved on a farm near Mederville, where they lived for nine years, when they moved on the farm which has been their home up to the present days.
Mr. Schuldt had been suffering for some time. The very best of care was given him by his wife and children until he was relieved from all earthly pain and suffering, Oct. 6, 1911, at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 18 days.
He leaves to mourn his death his aged wife, four daughters and two sons, two children having preceded their father in death.
Those still living are: Frank, of Portland, Oregon; Frieda, married to Henry Klahr; Mina, married to John Nading; Louise, married to Vallie Kramer; Ida, married to John Olinger; and William, at home. All of the children, with the exception of Frank, have their home in Cox Creek township. Deceased also leaves a host of friends. Funeral services, which were largely attended by relatives, neighbors and friends, were held Oct. 9th and conducted by Rev. Franke, of Elkader. Interment at the Mederville cemetery.
