Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 28 Dec. 1911.

Wm. Heiden, a veteran of the Civil War, died Friday, Dec. 20th, at the home of Albert Schiefelbein in Clayton Center, He was over seventy years old and his death was caused by troubles incident to old age. The funeral was held Sunday at Clayton Center.

Iowa Death Certificate (familysearch.org) gives his name as Wilhelm, and dates as 11/22/1841 - 12/22/1911 and burial in Read cemetery
