Elkader Register, Thur., 21 Oct. 1926.
Hanford O. Knudson was born Oct. 22, 1893, at St. Olaf, Iowa. God called him to the eternal harvest October 7, 1926. His age was only 32 years, 11 months and 14 days at time of death.
He was united in marriage with Miss Alice Haltmeyer of Farmersburg, October 6, 1917, and to this union were born three children: Dorothy Bernice, Marjorie Nell and Norma Jean, they being eight, five and two years of age, respectively. Besides his wife and three girls, his parents, brother and family, many other relatives and friends mourn his passing
He has always lived at St. Olaf where he has been active in furthering the best local interests. He has been engaged in Electric lighting and electrical work, in the garage business and motor sales, with his brother Alfred Knudson, and in painting and decorating. He has been a faithful worker and an honest business man. It can be justly said that he has done better for his fellowmen than for himself, because he wished to please.
He has always been a member of the Norway congregation, which ministers through its pastors, baptism, confirmation and a Christian burial. He confessed his faith in what his church had taught him to be true and believed in this truth, Jesus Christ and He crucified for the sins of the world, to be the one thing to put his trust in when going forth to meet his judge. He commanded the care and keeping of his family to God in his final prayer.
Many relatives and friends gathered at the Norway church to follow him to his resting place and to sympathize with the family.
