Elkader Register, Thur., 14 Oct. 1926. Guttenberg News column.

Relatives in this city on last Thursday evening received the sad news from Dubuque which stated that Mrs. William Johnson (nee Alma Mueller) had passed away at her home there, after a short illness, at the age of 39 years, 11 months and two days. Deceased was born in Jefferson Twp., Clayton county, Iowa, on November 5, 1886, where she grew to young womanhood. She received her education in the public schools of Guttenberg. On June 8, 1907, she was united in marriage with William Johnson at Guttenberg, Iowa. Fifteen years ago she went to Dubuque with her family where the remainder of her life was spent. Mrs. Johnson was a faithful member of the Lutheran church. She was a kind and true wife, mother, daughter and friend, her greatest pleasure in life at all times being to do acts of kindness for her family and friends. She was a fine Christian woman in every respect, and was loved by all who knew her. During her illness she was a patient sufferer and all that loving hands could do and medical knowledge could suggest was done for her to save her life but all failed when the Angel of Death called her to the Great Beyond, where there is no suffering, but joy and happiness forever. Her untimely death is deeply mourned by her husband, one daughter, Ruth, two sons, Lee and Milton, all at home, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Mueller of Guttenberg, one brother, Herman Mueller of Jefferson Twp., and numerous other relatives and friends, who will all sadly miss her. The body was brought to Guttenberg on Saturday afternoon and taken to the home of her parents. Funeral services were held at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church in this city on Sunday afternoon, Rev. Emil Lehne officiating. The body was laid to rest in the city cemetery. The funeral was very largely attended by relatives and friends from far and near which showed that deceased was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her.
