Wilson, Mertle died 1881

Mertle Wilson, aged 2 years, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Wilson, died on Saturday, of membraeous croup, and was buried in the cemetery at this place Sunday. She was the angel of the household, and it seemed almost cruel to take her away.

"Sweet babe, thy beauty was too fair
For this cold world of ours;
Thy lovely spirit could not bear
Its touch, like early flowers."
