Louis Welling, a life-long resident of this community, was found dead at his home on the island north of town on Friday morning. Deceased was born on a farm in Jefferson township, Clayton county, Iowa, 68 years ago. For many years he lived on the island, being engaged in fishing and trapping along the Mississippi river here. He is survived by one brother, Henry Welling, of Buck Creek. He was a member of the Catholic church. The funeral was held Saturday morning.
