Gus G. Schrunk, former resident of Dubuque, died at the home of his son, Charles Schrunk in Joplin, Mo.
Mr. Schrunk was born in Clayton county, August 24, 1856. He is survived by one son, Charles of Joplin, Mo., four brothers, Fred and John of Osterdock, William of Gettysburg, S.D., and Joseph of Los Angeles; and two sisters, Mrs. William Marold of Dyersville, Iowa, and Mrs. J. W. Strader of Dubuque. One sister, Mrs. Emma Murphy, died on Jan. 29, 1926.
Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Church in this city, Tuesday forenoon and interment was made in the Catholic cemetery.
(Note: A second obit in the Elkader Register of 11 Mar. 1926 lists his parents as Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schrunk, and his marriage to Miss Anna Rodenberg in Sept. of 1885. Named as his daughter is Miss Rose of Minneapolis, Minn. His two sisters are named as Lizzie Strader and Louise Marold. This obit also states interment was made in the city cemetery.)
