GUTTENBERG: Otto C. Walter, formerly of Guttenberg, but of late years a resident of Chicago, died at a Chicago hospital Saturday evening at 11 o'clock, following a long illness, and at the age of 29 years, ten months and 27 days. Deceased was born on a farm in Jefferson township, Clayton county, Iowa, on Dec. 15, 1902, later coming to Guttenberg to reside. He was a graduate of the Guttenberg high school and Bayless business college of Dubuque. For two years after graduating he taught bookkeeping at Bayless business college. He had been a resident of Chicago for the past six years, where he had a position with the Cudahy Packing Co. On Dec. 17, 1927, he was married in Chicago to Miss Lillian Steffen. For a time Mr. Walter resided in Milwaukee, Wis. He was an ambitious young man of excellent habits, and was held in high regard by all who knew him. His untimely death is deeply mourned by his wife, one son, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Waldin Klemp of Guttenberg; one half-sister, Miss Gertrude Klemp of Guttenberg; four half-brothers, Earl, Elmer, Walter and Carl Klemp, of Guttenberg, and many other relatives and friends, who will all sadly miss him. The body was brought from Chicago to the home of his parents in Guttenberg on Tuesday. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W. J. F. Adix at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church in Guttenberg on Wednesday afternoon, with interment in the city cemetery. The funeral was very largely attended by relatives and friends from far and near.
