STRAWBERRY POINT: Funeral services of Mrs. Archibald Bowers occurred Saturday afternoon at the home, conducted by Rev. Thos. J. Elwick, pastor of the M.E. church. The pall bearers were: N. A. Simmons, F. E. Tracy, John Tracy, E. H. Sargent, J. F. Grassmeyer and Louie Gramm. Interment took place in the local cemetery.
Ella Truair, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Truair, was born near Strawberry Point, Aug. 21, 1855, and passed away at her home on Thursday at noon, Sept. 22, suffering intensely during the last year but with great patience, never complaining. She was one of a family of ten children, eight girls and two boys of whom only one sister survives. Mar. 15, 1875, she was united in marriage to Archibald Bowers, to which union were born four children, all of whom were at the bedside of their mother when she was called home. Mrs. Bowers was an honorary member of the R.N. of A. and Rebekah lodges, both of which she attended as long as health permitted and took an active part. She leaves to mourn her passing her beloved husband and four children: R. H. Bowers of Manchester, G. W. Bowers, A. W. Bowers and Mrs. Geo. (Myrtle) Hebron, all of Strawberry Point; seven grandchildren; also one sister, Mrs. Nettie Booth of Oxford, Mass, besides other relatives and friends. Surely a good woman has gone from our midst but her kindnesses will ever be remembered.
