GUTTENBERG: Mrs. Otto Esslinger (nee Anna Tuecke) died at her home in Guttenberg Sunday morning at 12:30, at the age of 48years, 10 months and 28 days, following a long illness. Deceased was born on a farm in Clayton township, Nov. 2, 1883, where she grew to womanhood. The greater part of her ambitious and Christian life was spent in this community. She was married to Otto Esslinger in Clayton township 30 years ago. For a time the family resided in Dubuque.
Mrs. Esslinger was a faithful member of the Evangelical Lutheran church. She was held in high esteem by all who knew her.
Her death is deeply mourned by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Henry Holtz, Jr., of Guttenberg; one son, John Esslinger, at home; her mother, Mrs. John F. Tuecke, of Guttenberg; four sisters, Mrs. Victor Drumb of Osterdock, Mrs. William Mahowald of Guttenberg, Mrs. Henry Schroeder of Clayton township, and Mrs. Jack Greener of Chicago, Ill.; three brothers, William and Otto Tuecke of Clayton township, and John H. Tuecke of Guttenberg; and numerous other relatives and friends, who will all sadly miss this good and true woman.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W. J. F. Adix at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church in Guttenberg, Tuesday afternoon, with interment in the city cemetery. The funeral was very largely attended by relatives and friends from far and near.
