Clayton County Register, Thur., 15 Sept. 1932.

Mrs. Fred Beyer, nee Laudoa, was born in Garnavillo township, Feb. 26, 1861 She was baptized and confirmed in Lutheran Zion's church at Clayton Center. On January 10, 1884, she was united in Marriage to Fred Beyer. Eight children were born to this union. Three of these, Karl, Fritz and Elmer, preceded the parents in death. The Fred Beyer family lived close to Clayton Center on a farm. But two years ago Mr. and Mrs. Fred Beyer left the farm and lived together with their children. While they were last year with their daughter in Giard, Mr. Beyer was taken away by death on July 31, 1931. Mrs. Beyer continued to stay with her children. About three months ago she came to her daughter, Mrs. John Lemke, in Giard, and here she died on the 8th of September, 1932. Her whole lifetime was 71 years, six months and 13 days. Those mourning her passing are the children: Mrs. John Lemke and family, Giard; Otto Beyer and family, Read township; Rev. Hugo Beyer and family, Kimball, S.D.; Mrs. Ernst Thurn and family, of Edgewood; Mr. and Mrs. William Thurn, nee Beyer, Edgewood; and a sister, Mrs. Groosmann, Clermont.

Funeral services were held in Zion's Lutheran church at Clayton Center, last Saturday afternoon. Interment was made in the old cemetery, the Rev. B. F. Korte officiating.
