Clayton County Register, Thur., 26 May 1932. Monona column.
Funeral services for Miss Eileen M. Ormsby, aged 24, were held Monday morning at ten o'clock for St. Patrick's Catholic church with burial beside her parents in St. Patrick's cemetery. Rev. Father Robert A. Ormsby of Preston, Iowa, read the mass of requiem and Father Luke Donlon of Monona delivered an impressive sermon. Pallbearers were Joseph Geraghty, Frank Sudol, Jr., Eddie Kadlec, Edward Grady, Robert Bluck of McGregor and Michael Geraghty of Monona. Music was furnished by Sister M. Doloroso and Mrs. James F. Carroll, assisted by St. Patrick's choir.
Surviving are four sisters, namely: Mrs. D. C. Wright (Genevra) of Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. R. N. Schmitz (Florence), of Mason City; Mrs. John E. Geraghty (Helen) of McGregor, and Miss Justine Ormsby, R.N., of Chicago; and two brothers, Robert E. Ormsby and Thomas Ormsby of McGregor. Her mother died in January, 1931, and a sister, Mrs. Thomas Ryan (Olive) and her father, Robert J. Ormsby, also preceded her in death.
Eileen Ormsby was an admirable character, had a charming personality and was greatly loved by all who knew her. She was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Ormsby, deceased, and grew to womanhood on the Ormsby farm on Pleasant Ridge. She was truly a lady and in her sufferings was most patient, greatly fortified by her religion.
