Clayton County Register, Thur. 12 May 1932.

Mrs. Julia Wareham died in her home here Monday morning, May 2, at seven o'clock. Mrs. Wareham had passed her 77th birthday and for six years has valiantly fought against the heart affliction to which she finally succumbed.

Mrs. Wareham was born in New York City, July 16, 1855, and at the age of two years came to Clayton county with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Morrisey. Here she grew to womanhood.

Fifty-seven years ago she was married to George Wareham, who died May 23, 1926. To this union twelve children were born, six of whom preceded her in death. George, John, Francis, Julia, Phoebe and Florence survive. She enjoyed a wide acquaintance and was highly respected by all who knew her.

Since the death of her husband she had gradually failed in health. During the last year she suffered several heart attacks.

Funeral services were solemnized with a solemn high mass in St. Joseph's church here at ten o'clock last week Wednesday morning and interment was made in the St. Joseph's cemetery, the Rev. Fathers J. P. Taken, Elkader; Sharphoff, Garnavillo, and Horsefield, McGregor, officiating.

Besides the children already mentioned Mrs. Wareham is survived by 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; also two brothers and one sister. The passing of Mrs. Wareham marks the further contracting of the little circle of Clayton county pioneer settlers. A host of friends will mourn her death. May she have found a refuge in the love that passeth understanding.
