Edward M. Boland, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Boland, deceased, was buried here Tuesday forenoon in St. Joseph's cemetery after services in St. Joseph's church.

Edward met his death under the wheels of a freight train near Sanger, Texas, April 20th, and his body was brought back for burial.

The funeral sermon was preached by the Rev. Father D. P. Cregan of Volga City who also read Mass assisted by the Fathers J. P. Taken, Luke Donlon of Monona and Bowen of Strawberry Point.

The obituary will be found in the Volga correspondence in this issue of the Register. Casket bearers were: Thos. Boland, Phil Boland, Leo Boland, Wm. P. Boland, J. B. Donlon and Harold Downey.

Relatives here received word Wednesday of the death of Edward M. Boland, which occurred by accident at Sanger, Texas. The remains arrived Monday morning at Elkader for burial.

Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's church at Elkader at 9:30 o'clock, Tuesday morning. A Mass of ________ requiem was read by the pastor, Rev. J. P. Taken assisted by Rev. Father Donlon of Monona and Rev. D. P. Cregan of this place. Interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery at Elkader.

Edward M. Boland was the son of Mr. ad Mrs. C. M. Boland, born May 28, 1912 in Highland township. In the year 1920 he moved with his family to this place where he attended the local schools.. Later going to Dubuque where he attended St. Mary's school. After attending high school again in the local school he was employed on different farms in this vicinity.

Owing to ill health Edward was confined to a state hospital for a short period and the past ten months has been traveling in the southern states where he met his untimely death.

He was preceded in death by his father who died, July 2, 1916, his mother who died, April 8, 1921, and one sister, Marie, whose death occurred, July 8, 1918.

Those surviving are: two sisters, Miss Lucy Boland, Fort Dodge, and Miss Margaret Boland, Strawberry Point; four brothers, Joe, Cedar Rapids, John of Elkader, James and Raphael of this place.
