MONONA: George Aulerich, Sr., 85, died at eleven o'clock, Tuesday night, at the David Stevenson home north of Monona. Mr. Aulerich was born in Mecklenberg, Germany, Sept. 30, 1846,, and at the age of 19 came to this country He settled near Farmersburg, later moving to Bismark, and in 1918 moved to Monona. In 1919 his wife died, and in May, 1931, his daughter Amelia died. Surviving are six children, three daughters, Mrs. Mathilda Stevenson of Monona, Mrs. Emma Brownson of Farmersburg, and Mrs. Bertha Engelhardt of Webster, South Dakota, and three sons, Henry Aulerich, George J. Aulerich, Jr., and Emil F. Aulerich of Monona; seven grandchildren, Harold, Karl, Vera, Dorleen and Florence P. Aulerich of Monona, Palmer Brownson of Farmersburg, and Hugo Emgelhardt of Webster, S.D.; two great-grandchildren, a half brother, John Krambeer, Sr., and a half sister, Mrs. August H. Meyer of Monona.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 1:30 from the George Aulerich, Jr. home, to the Lutheran Evangelical church at two o'clock, The Rev. A. Daugs officiating, with burial in the Lutheran cemetery.
