Funeral services were held here Monday morning at 10 o'clock, at Sacred Heart Catholic church, for Fred Clinton, who passed away Friday morning. Rev. D. P. Cregan, pastor, officiated at the church. The remains were taken to St. Joseph's cemetery at Elkader for interment.
The casket was borne by Charles Meder, Milton Duff, Claire Withman, M. J. Conboy, Clifford Jennings and Jacob Kraus.
Fred Clinton was born Sept. 10, 1884, at Littleport, Iowa, and died Friday, March 11th, at the age of 48 years, six months and one day. He was married January 19, 1921, to Miss Mary Casey. To this union three children were born, namely: Helen, aged ten years; Fred, Jr., age eight; and Ernest, six years, all of whom survive with the mother. There are also five brothers and two sisters: Mrs. Wayne Pugh, of Littleport; Mrs. M. F. Whalen of St. Maries, Idaho; Charles Clinton, Ponca City, Okla.; Wm. Clinton, Littleport; Ernest of McGregor; and George of Littleport, besides many other relatives and friends who will greatly miss him. His father and mother and one brother, John, preceded him in death.
