The death of Mrs. Victor Walz (nee Mary Seidel), 79, life-long resident of Clayton county, occurred at her home in Guttenberg on Wednesday morning, Feb. 17, 1932, at six o'clock, her death being due mostly to the infirmities of old age.
Deceased was born on a farm in Jefferson township, Clayton county, Iowa, May 28, 1852. She was married at Guttenberg to Mr. Victor Walz, 59 years ago. For many years the family lived on a farm near Guttenberg, coming to Guttenberg to reside 42 years ago. She was a faithful member of the Catholic church.
Mrs. Walz is survived by her husband, four children, Mrs. T. H. Schaefer, of Plainfield, Iowa, Frank Walz of Clayton township, Jake Walz of Read township, and Mrs. Joseph Ley of Dubuque; twenty-four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Joseph Seidel of Guttenberg; one sister, Mrs. Christ Tujetsch of Garber, and numerous relatives and friends, who will all sadly miss this worthy mother.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. J. A. Dupont at St. Mary's Catholic church in Guttenberg on Saturday morning. The body will be laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery at Guttenberg.
