On Saturday, Jan. 5, 1901, at the home of Mrs. John Becker, of Millville, occurred the death of Mrs. Katherine Kauffman of old age. She was born on February 19, 1811, in Lancashire county, Pennsylvania, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Miller and moved to Ohio with her parents when she was small. She was married in Ohio in June, 1834, to Rudolph Kauffman. She leaves two sons, J. J. Kauffman and Dave Kauffman, three daughters, Helen, Libby, and Dorcas, besides several relatives and friends to mourn her death. Mr. Kauffmann died nine years ago. They came to Clayton county in 1854 and settled on the Bolsinger farm near Millville. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. The funeral was held Monday, Jan. 7. 1901. Rev. Kirsch conducting the services with interment in the Bolsinger cemetery. She was 86 years, 10 months and 17 days of Age. The surviving sons and daughters have a large circle of friends in this vicinity who join with the Press in extending sympathy to them in their bereavement.- Guttenberg Press.
