Elkader Register, Thur., 9 May 1901. Monona column.

DIED- At the home of her brother, R. M. Fonda, of Monona, on May 2nd, aged 78 years. Miss Fonda had suffered for years with rheumatism, and recently had a fall, from which her feeble constitution could not recover. Funeral services, conducted by Revs. P. N. Dwello, of Center Grove, and S. T. Beatty, of Monona, were held at the residence on Saturday. May she rest in peace.

(Note: She is listed in WPA records as Ann E. Fonda, 1822 / 2 May 1901, buried in Monona City cemetery. Also, See the IGPP photo of the R. M. Fonda gravestone in Monona City cemetery, for her inscription.)
