from Thurs., 2 May 1901, Garnavillo Press (part of Guttenberg Tribune), page 1, column 3:

Franz Muech, who has been residing with his son-in-law, Paul Hoss [Haas] on Cedar creek, died Monday noon, aged 91 years. The body was interred in the Catholic cemetery here yesterday, Rev. Father Raedler conducting the funeral service.
