Sunday morning when the hill engine was returning from Monona, the crew noticed the body of a man lying beside the track this side of Giard. They immediately reported at Giard and received orders to bring him to the nearest town. That being North McGregor the corpse was brought here and put in the city hall. A letter was found in his clothes showing his home to be Stoughton, Wis. Undertaker Weber took charge of the remains. A coroner's inquest was called and the jury returned a verdict of accidental death by falling from the train. The remains were taken to Stoughton Sunday night. His name was Morris Lawton.
