Funeral services were conducted Monday, August 10, 1959, at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Elkport for Willis H. Lewin who died Friday, August 7, at Riverview Hospital in Guttenberg from a stroke. He had been ill only about two days.

Willis was the son of John and Ernestine Lewin, he was born at Guttenberg March 30, 1896. His early life was spent in Read Township near Elkader and later lived around Elkport.

On April 5, 1916, he was united in marriage to Rosanna Towsley and they had nine children: Mrs. Edgar (Violet) Nelson, Marion; Mrs. Harvey (Irene) Nelson, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Lamarr (Luva) Chettinger, Guttenberg; Mrs. Raymond (Evelyn) Corson, Donnellson; Mrs. Frederick (Betty) Thein, Marion; LaVern, Garber; Lawrence, Greeley; Leroy and Eugene, Edgewood.
